Position Purpose
The Safety coordinator works to ensure that all company employees can complete their work safely in a safe working environment. They set safety standards for the workplace based on legal requirements and train employees to help them understand these rules. The Safety coordinator also monitor working conditions and resolve any safety issues that may arise. 
Duties and Responsibilities
· Visit job site locations to monitor safe working conditions and identify potential safety risk to prevent incidents, including conducting weekly and monthly safety audits. 
· Investigate any safety incidents, including proper documentation. 
· Recommend corrective actions.
· Implement safety management systems. 
· Responsible for tracking and reporting all safety metrics.
· Facilitate employee random drug testing. 
· Lead safety meetings and educate crews on proper safety practices, policies, policies and risk management. 
· Implement new safety programs. 
· Ensure that all customer safety requirements are met and exceeded. 
· Construct and update safety policies per OSHA standards. 
· Use Veriforce and ISNetworld systems to update/verify employee safety certification records. 
Qualifications· Construction, Oil/Gas safety management experience (1-3 years)
· OSHA 30 HR
· OSHA 500 (Preferred)
· First Aid/CPR Certification
· Analytical problem-solving skills
· Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Health and Safety or related, will also consider Associates degree.
· Broad knowledge of federal, state, and local health and safety rules.
· Broad knowledge of appropriate emergency protocols.
· Ability to learn job site machinery, processes, and products as related to safety issues.
· Strong organizational skills.
Physical Demands
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
